New Look Same Great Taste!

The world’s most popular R4 card, the R4 SDHC, is getting a face lift. First available alongside the former version, the R4 SDHC v 2.10T is now the flagship product of the R4 SDHC team. The familiar black box is now officially discontinued, and no longer in stock with us here at DSCardWorld. We will continue to support the black box version, but any cards sold will now be the new version.

The official name is the R4 SDHC v2.10T but also may be referred to as the “Happy Box” packaging as it’s designed to be used with the R4 SDHC team’s DS Card management client software, DS Happy Box currently in beta.

We are in the process of replacing our site images, but we have below the new packaging you can expect with all orders as well as more information on the improvements. Despite how it may look, this is NOT the R4i Gold, and it is not a fake, it is another product from the same manufacturer as the world’s most popular R4 since the original retired in 2008.

The R4i Gold pictured below is NOT Carried by www.DSCardWorld.com

As you can see it has a textured gold surface, immediately eye-catching. It differs from the R4i Gold which, although of the same color is a completely different card from a different manufacturer.

The box and the card itself clearly show the www.r4sdhc.com website, which is the same home site as the r4 sdhc black box as shown on the webpage below.

Once you have the card booted up you’ll notice that the menu software is lifted directly from the R4i SDHC (red box). The current version is visible in the bottom left hand corner on both gui’s. The latest R4 v2.10T software is v2.10T03, and the version shown for the R4i SDHC is v1.19b.

We are very excited about this new product, as it will feature all the functionality of the R4 SDHC black, but with added game compatibility, and a large increase in loading speed.

You can pick up the brand new R4 SDHC card at our shop here: R4 SDHC Order Page

When your DS starts up and freezes on a Loading Screen with the R4, or a red menu icon with a clone card, here is the fix. This common problem with the R4 DS card is nearly always caused by a mismatched firmware or no firmware installed onto the micro sd memory card. This happens because that firmware, also known as kernal software tells the DS specifically how to interact with the R4 chip. If it can’t match the versions, it can’t run.

Pay close attention to what exact model of card you own as they require different versions of software between models i.e. a R4 SDHC will require different firmware then an R4 Ultra. If you check out the great guides on R4 cards on our sponsored site R4DSRevolution they have links to all the manufacturer pages for the most popular R4ds cards. From there you can download the latest firmware direct from the manufacturer of your card. If you purchased a card from DSCardWorld then we monitor these sites ourselves and host the latest downloads right on our support page so you don’t have to go hunting for it yourself.

If you’ve installed the wrong firmware simply reformat your micro SD card by inserting it in a Micro SD USD adapter and plug it into your computer, start a reformat in FAT32, recommended a full, not a quick, reformat for first time card use. Once that’s done copy the correct firmware onto the SD card and insert that into your R4 DS card. It should load right into the R4 Screen or the Nintendo DS game screen where you select the game the R4 is showing up as.

Hopefully, this helps you out, because it would be a shame to return a perfectly functional flash card when we can quickly fix it. Best of luck and Happy Thanksgiving to those in USA.

Hi there, and welcome to the DSCardWorld blog! We’re going to use this section of the website to do something a bit different – because we’re not just shopkeepers – we like to play on our DS / DSi consoles as well! We’re going to use this section of the site to give you reviews of some of the games we’ve bought, tips and tricks for your Nintendo DS or DSi, as well as any new news relating to DS or DSi cards!

And please don’t forget – under NO circumstances should you play copyrighted games on your DS or DSi that you do not already own. DS cards are used to backup games (it’s useful to take one cartridge on holiday rather than twenty!) – but users should never breach copyright. So support the industry, and go and buy the games if you like them!

We’ve launched the website with three high quality (all individually tested, unlike anywhere else!) cards for our customers:

R4i SDHC

Acekard 2i

R4 SDHC

We will be adding three more shortly:

M3i Zero

EZFlash Vi

DSTT

Stay tuned, and have fun with your DS!

All the best,
The DSCardWorld Team
